Fantastic Walking (Ⅰ), Hiva

Walking inside "Ikan kara" defended by the wall : Hiva is located about 750 km west of the capital city of Tashkent, an oasis town that flourished as an entrance to the Kalakum Desert from the Persian era. The town of Khiva was protected by the double wall of the outer wall and the inner wall to prevent invasion of foreign enemies. The inner castle surrounded by the inner wall is called “Ikan kara”, and there are numerous ruins such as the mosque, Medrese and the minaret in Ikhangkara. In 1969 the entire Khiva was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.

After sunset, I left the hotel and walked around the city of Khiva. Ichan · kara surrounded by the wall of the height exceeding 10 meters completely quieted, the moon floating in the indigo night sky was illuminating the minaret and the cobblestone.
